AIM LAUNCH

AIM successfully launched April 25, 2007.

The satellite launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., on a Pegasus-XL launch vehicle to its orbit 600 km (373 miles) above Earth. After initial spacecraft stabilization, the spacecraft and instruments underwent extensive commissioning activities to ensure proper operation.

Takeoff is the departure of the L-1011 from Vandenberg AFB. Launch is the drop and ignition of the Pegasus from the L-1011. Takeoff and Launch must occur no earlier than NET and no later than NLT.

The AIM Mission is a Small Explorer NASA Satellite Mission. Launch Date is set for 25 April 2007.
